Your REVIEWS

Our review process

We’re committed to constantly strengthening our review validation process. We actively listen to feedback from our users and community to find opportunities for improvement. At the same time, we stay up to date on emerging trends and tactics in fake review manipulation, so we can continuously adapt and refine our technology and moderation practices.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU SUBMIT A REVIEW?

review workflow

1. The large majority (~90%) of our reviews are sourced from brands directly, meaning they send us authenticated experiences

2. Reviews are checked for a variety of markers in an automated anti-fraud process. That includes things such as PII violation, vulgarity and more.  Our anti-fraud systems also look for review frequency and rapid submissions, as well as other factors to ensure the review is not farmed.

Shopper Verification

Shoppers are verified through a couple of key ways.

The majority of reviews on our site are sourced directly from retailers using our JavaScript or Direct Campaign method for those who have had a website experience (point of sale) or a full sale purchase fulfillment. Look for these shoppers with the verified review badge.

A small set are organic which are harder to verify the source, which is why INVOICE numbers are required for reviews. This allows disputes of these reviews to be backed by some method.

Customers use their email and need to verify their account, via email, google or meta.

Shoppers who are spamming, bots, etc are being constantly removed by the system and audits.

our story
Reviews are put into a pending period in which they are held. For example reviews can take 48 hour business hours or more to go live as they go through our review and check system.   Some review platforms publish reviews immediately - we almost never do. This gives our system and team as well as retailers time to fix issues, remediate it, or double check content against policy guidelines. Retailers who work with us can specify longer pending times to work with customers to fix issues.

When a reviews is past the pending period and it hasn't been flagged for further investigation - it goes live.

Why isn't my review showing up
5. If your review is taken down, it may have been flagged by a store or retailer. That means it might have been flagged on the grounds of our flagging terms and content compliance which tries to ensure content is relevant to brand and not off-topic (for example) or is about the business.

The goal of flags is to build a two way street for both shoppers and reviews to discuss, work through issues and resolve.

Reviews can also be flagged by shoppers as well for a variety of content issues.

This is where our Content Moderation team comes in. A team of human moderators that evaluate the flags, may contact reviewers and retailers alike for evidence.

Reviews are never taken down due to score nor can anyone pay to have reviews taken down.

If your review isn't showing up and you don't know why - there are a few ways to remediate the issue.
Check it out our guidelines here.

REVIEW AUDIT PROCESS

Out platform also periodically deals with review audits, where we will go through both the platform, content and review side and audit past reviews en scale with newly developing AI tools. Here is the run down.

AI Tools scan content and are processed by moderation
